Foggy today so I’ll be needing the light switch in this unaccustomed position and this equally unaccustomed warning light on.
Note: it's a rear fog light, not the front variety. Sadly the first buyer of my car didn't spring for front fogs.

I wish I had fog lamps. I really need them. Since switching to night shift...they would have come in handy several times so far this year...
oh well. Maybe my next vehicle will be so equipped.

My headlights are always on auto, and I don't like to take them out of auto to put them on. The way around this is I just push the button for the fog lights and this will also turn my headlights on, even if the car doesn't think we need them on. Resets every time you start the car, so I use my fogs a decent amount.

A few weeks ago my wife emails me from work,
“it sure was foggy this morning - I wish we had bought a car with fog lights.”
“uh - you do have fog lights”
“no I don’t - I looked”
So I found and sent her a youtube video on how to turn on her fog lights.
“thank you honey!”

T o her credit, it’s a separate little twisty switch thing... I kinda wish auto makers would just make one switch, on/off just for the fog lamps , so you could just turn them on whenever you wanted.

In the US, it seems like everyone with fog lights uses them all the time. It’s like bragging that you bought the top trim.

Recently I’ve been getting really angry about this until I realized while mildly annoying at night, it doesn’t actually hurt anything. Decided to let that one go.
That said, two of my cars have fogs and both of them reset every time you turn the car on/off. I choose to believe these people aren’t turning their fog lights every time they get in the car. Because seriously....

Daytime use doesn’t anger me, but when people use misaligned aftermarket lights at night... Especially the new LED running lights that people seem to think are appropriate for 24/7 use.

With front fog lights that's fine, but when you're using your rear fog light when you're not supposed to I will flash my high beams at you.

Ditto. 99% of US cars have no rear fogs, but I occasionally see a clueless Mercedes or Volvo driver with them on. I don’t even bother flashing. They don’t know it exists.

Some do. My Fiat 500 has a button specifically for turning on the fog lights
Just above the shifter.
